Toolmaker

Reporting: Reports directly to the Engineering Manager

Position: Salary

Hours: 7:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Thursday. 7:00 am to 2:30 pm Friday.
Job will require occasional work beyond 40 hour week including Fridays.
(Hours may be adjusted at the discretion of your supervisor.)

Overview:

As a Trim Operator you will be responsible for the processing of rubber products according to verbal or documented procedures and/or instructions from your supervisor and/or product work guidance. These processes may include: preparing substrates for molding, hand trimming, cryogenic de-flashing of molded products, the cleaning, inspection, counting and packaging of rubber products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for the sign off of specific areas of the work orders which indicate that the job is completed.
  • You are responsible for following all verbal and/or written instructions by your supervisor.
  • You are responsible for following the guidelines of the Employee Manual including Safety related items.
  • You are responsible to communicate all Quality and Equipment issues to the appropriate Quality Inspector and your Supervisor should issues arise.

Essential Job Requirements:

Skills, Education and/or Experience

  • Must read, write and speak English fluently; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • You must be team oriented and willing to take responsibility for critical employee decisions.
  •  Ability to accurately measure dimensions utilizing standard shop measuring and inspection equipment
  • Strong understanding of machining practices, mechanical fitments, and assemblies.
  • Detail oriented – must be able to hold .0005″ total tolerance
  • SolidWorks and/or other CAD software experience

Mathematical Skills:

Maintenance Technician

Reporting: Reports directly to the Facilities Manager
Position: Hourly
Hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday. Job will require occasional work beyond 40 hour week including Saturdays. (Hours may be adjusted at the discretion of your supervisor.)

Overview:

The maintenance technician hired for this position will be responsible for keeping the three buildings that KDL operates running.  Also, in some instances this person will assist in our production department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain main hydraulic pumping system that serves the presses in the Bradley building (greasing presses, vacuuming oil out of pans and tightening bolts on crown).
  • Troubleshoot and maintain the liquid injection molding machines in the Desmond building.
  • Maintain and repair miscellaneous equipment located in all buildings
    (water systems, compressors, staplers, cryogenic de-flashers, mills and racking systems, etc.).
  • Keep track of all changes completed and maintenance performed in the ISO approved log books, located in the maintenance trailer.
  • Safely change fuses in machines and/or electrical boxes located around the facility.
  • Keep all yards in order and cleaned weekly.
  • Minor rework on various parts.
  • Other tasks or projects assigned by Facilities Manager.

  • Vocational or technical school is not required, however this is a plus.

  • Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Safe use of basic shop tools.
  • Fabrication and welding experience.
  • Forklift experience.

Quality Inspector

Reporting: Reports directly to the Quality Manager
Position: Hourly
Hours: 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Thursday. (Hours may be adjusted at the discretion of your supervisor.)

Overview:

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for the assurance of the quality   of our product through inspection, tests and audits, according to verbal and/or documented procedures and per instructions from your supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains documented evidence of records of inspection and test data.
  • Receives and identifies incoming raw materials, components and finished assemblies.
  • Performs first article inspections according to written procedures and with knowledge of GD&T.
  • Generates non-conforming material reports (DR’s) and participate in Material Review Board (MRB) for nonconforming material.
  • Generates Certification of Conformance for product shipped to the customer as required.
  • Assists in the maintenance and coordination of the calibration system, as required.
  • Performs work order operations and proper sign off.
  • Performs Contract Reviews.
  • Follows work traveler, work guidance and drawings.
  • Fills out material tags.
  • Preserves product in accordance to good manufacturing practices.
  • Supports 5-s and adheres to health, safety and environmental company guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
