One of the processes used to manufacture medical products is the Liquid Injection Molding (LIM)™ of Silicone. This is used to reduce flash to an acceptable level so that no additional labor is used. In addition, the LIM™ process offers a benefit to the customer because it allows an acceptable low piece price.
On a daily basis, KDL molds rubber and silicone materials that meet the United States Pharmacopoeia Class Six (USP CLASS VI) requirements for medical grade materials that can be implanted into the body for up to 28 days.
